“It was an honour to cut the ribbon welcoming KANSAI HELIOS America to Johnstown,” said Tiffany Hollis, Mayor of Johnstown. “When a global leader in industrial coatings chooses our community for its most significant U.S. investment, it speaks volumes about the strength of our location and our people. This is exactly the kind of smart growth we value – building on existing infrastructure, creating high-quality jobs, and bringing new energy into our local economy.”

The site represents the most significant U.S. investment by the KANSAI HELIOS Group to date. Located at 231 Commerce Boulevard, the facility spans approximately 135,000 square feet on a 28-acre site. With an investment exceeding $20 million, an existing industrial building has been transformed into a state-of-the-art production hub for innovative industrial coatings. Designed to serve key markets such as general industry, the facility significantly strengthens KANSAI HELIOS America’s ability to supply customers across North America with greater speed, flexibility, and proximity. At the same time, it connects local production with the Group’s global expertise, drawing on established technologies and know-how from European operations.

“With the opening of KANSAI HELIOS America, we are taking a significant step in strengthening our presence in North America,” said Bastian Krauss, President and Executive Director of the KANSAI HELIOS Group. “This investment reflects our long-term commitment to the region and our ambition to be closer to our customers, delivering the quality, innovation, and reliability they expect from us on a global scale.”

Local representatives from Licking County, the City of Johnstown, the Licking County Chamber of Commerce, and additional regional partners welcomed the investment as a strong signal for the region’s economic development. The project is expected to create up to 50 new jobs in the coming years, contributing to the diversification of the regional manufacturing base and supporting long-term growth.

“This facility is more than a production site – it is the foundation for our future in North America,” said Gregory Wiese, Managing Director of KANSAI HELIOS America. “We are proud to be part of the Johnstown community and to build a strong local team that combines global expertise with local talent. Together, we will drive growth, innovation, and long-term partnerships with our customers across the region.”

The Ohio facility also plays a key role in the KANSAI HELIOS Group’s broader strategy of expanding its international production network. As part of the global KANSAI PAINT Group, the company continues to build on its position as a system supplier offering advanced coating solutions across multiple technologies.

With the opening of KANSAI HELIOS America, the company group not only expands its manufacturing footprint but also reinforces its long-term commitment to the North American market – combining global strength with local roots to drive future growth.
