Building a culture of care – Zero accidents and a healthy workplace

At KANSAI HELIOS, the health, safety, and well-being of our employees and the community are paramount. It’s more than a commitment – it’s our unwavering promise.

Our Health & Safety Policy serves as a guide to help us achieve a hazard-free workplace, foster a culture of care, and ensure compliance. In accordance with this policy, the safety of our employees is our foremost concern, incorporated into every decision, with precise objectives and the ultimate objective of achieving zero workplace injuries.

In line with our KANSAI HELIOS sustainable development goals for 2030, we are committed to achieving a Lost Time Injury Frequency (LTIF) equal to, or less than 1.5. Our safety focus extends beyond our employees to external contractors on-site, visitors, and partners.

Embracing Environmental Stewardship

At the forefront of our environmental endeavours, we proudly showcase our steadfast dedication to environmental stewardship. Nearly all our sites are certified under ISO 14001:2015, a testament to our dedication to environmental management systems. Our commitment is further reinforced by the fact that several of our group companies, including CWS POWDER COATINGS and KANSAI HELIOS Austria, proudly hold EMAS certification. Helios TBLUS is now offering several different products made from sustainable raw materials, that are certified with ISCC Plus certificate in all parts of the value chain back to the point of origin.

Two of our companies have undergone evaluation by Ecovadis and have been ranked in the top 15% among over 130,000 rated companies worldwide. We aim to consistently enhance our score by introducing sustainable practices and ultimately have all companies within our group recognized on the Ecovadis platform.

Our commitment goes beyond declarations; it is evident in our concrete sustainability targets. We aim for a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and a 20% decrease in both, water and energy use by 2030. We are also committed to reducing our waste output by 30%, reinforcing our pledge to minimize our ecological footprint.

In terms of product stewardship, we are dedicated to the responsible management of chemicals, the development of sustainable products, and the promotion of safe handling practices. Our focus on innovation and research is geared towards pioneering solutions that not only meet but exceed regulatory standards, thereby minimizing environmental impact. Our commitment to innovation is crucial, especially in creating products that comply with REACH regulations and enhance safety for both people and the planet.

Additionally, we are proud participants in Responsible Care®, the global chemical industry’s initiative aimed at improving environmental, health, safety, and security performance. This program emphasizes continuous improvement, resource efficiency, transparent reporting, stakeholder engagement, regulatory cooperation, and the promotion of responsible chemical management throughout the product chain.
