Giving back to society

Our social engagement connects people, expertise, and communities—creating value beyond our products.

At KANSAI HELIOS, social responsibility is not an add on—it is a fundamental part of who we are. As one of the Group’s core values, responsibility reflects our respect for people, society, and the environment and guides how we act as a corporate citizen across all regions.

Anchored in the Kansai Paint Group’s Connecting to the Future Program (CFP) and guided by the vision “Enrich Lives with Happiness”, our social engagement focuses on creating lasting value for communities. We believe that sustainable impact is achieved when business expertise, local collaboration, and long term commitment come together.

Across the Group, our social initiatives are shaped around three priority areas:

contributing to well‑being and quality of life by enhancing and protecting the spaces in which people live, learn, and work

fostering education, skills, and opportunities for young people and future professionals

strengthening social cohesion, inclusion, and resilience within the communities connected to our operations

Our social engagement is shaped by a broad portfolio of initiatives. This approach allows our Group companies to respond flexibly to local needs while acting in line with shared values and priorities. Wherever possible, we contribute not only resources, but also technical know‑how and employee involvement to support meaningful and sustainable outcomes.

Employee involvement plays a central role in bringing our commitment to life. Across countries and functions, our teams actively contribute time, skills, and solidarity to social and charitable initiatives—strengthening cross‑border collaboration and reinforcing a culture of shared responsibility.

Beyond structured programs, KANSAI HELIOS companies support schools, social organizations, sports initiatives, and community projects through donations, partnerships, and hands‑on engagement. In all our activities, we remain committed to sustainable development, the health and well‑being of employees and communities, and the continuous strengthening of trust with society.

Rainbow of Smiles

We closely monitor developments in our communities and act where support is needed most. Through our Rainbow of Smiles initiative, we focus primarily on children and young people by supporting schools, kindergartens, sports initiatives and creative projects. Wherever a helping hand can make a difference, we aim to contribute in a meaningful and practical way.

Cultural heritage preservation

We believe that cultural heritage plays a vital role in strengthening local identity and community cohesion. That is why we selectively support projects dedicated to preserving traditions, craftsmanship and cultural landmarks within the regions where we operate.

Sports and associated values

Sports foster teamwork, discipline and a healthy, active lifestyle — values we strongly believe in. One example is the long‑standing partnership of KANSAI HELIOS Slovenia with the Basketball Club KANSAI HELIOS Domžale, which supports youth development with its own basketball school, where more than 600 children train regularly.

Global Mural Project

Color has the power to connect people and transform public spaces. In close collaboration with KANSAI PAINT Japan, KANSAI HELIOS supported the creation of a large‑scale mural in Delft, the Netherlands, as part of the “Over the Wall” World Mural Project led by the Japanese artist Kensuke Miyazaki. The project demonstrates how art and colour can enrich communities and inspire dialogue across cultures. (Copyright Photo: courtesy of Over the Wall)

School Sponsoring

Encouraging young people to explore careers in the chemical industry is an important part of our social commitment. As one example, KANSAI HELIOS Austria supports Viennese students through the VCÖ project competition, helping to spark interest in technology, science and sustainable innovation at an early stage.

Playroom Renovation

Through a targeted donation to DV Prečko, Chromos boje i lakovi d.d. aimed to make a tangible contribution to a more pleasant and stimulating environment for children. As part of the initiative, the kindergarten’s main playroom was renovated and the outdoor playground equipment was protected, using our products. By supporting the kindergarten’s everyday activities, the project focused on improving conditions for play, learning and children’s daily stay.

Playground Renovation

With the socially responsible project “Renovating the Playground Together”, our employees actively contributed to the renovation of a public playground in Vrhnika. As part of a nationwide campaign in which nine playgrounds competed for renovation, the KANSAI HELIOS Slovenia team rolled up their sleeves and gave the winning playground Palčke on Tržaška cesta a fresh coat of paint.
This initiative is one example of how we put social responsibility into practice — by strengthening ties with the local community and supporting projects that create lasting value, foster a sense of belonging and contribute to a better shared future.
